Purpose of the role

To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of National Trust for Scotland managed sites by maintaining excellent standards of service, optimising opportunities to gain income and ensuring that the site and its’ assets are safe and secure.
Specifically, to ensure the smooth and safe operations in Admissions, Retail, Visitor Centre, Catering and Events activities making the property the best possible place to visit and work.
We are looking for talented and customer focused individuals to join our team and to help us make Crarae Gardens a 5* Visitor Attraction.
We are looking for people who have experience or a keen interest in Visitor Experience and Scotland’s’ Heritage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times when:

– welcoming visitors to the site and processing their admission/retail or catering purchase in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner.
– welcoming visitors with special needs / impairments and providing a high level of service in accordance with the Equality Act.
– welcoming International visitors and aiding with specific needs.
– welcoming large groups in an efficient and warm manner.
– answering visitors’ queries about the site, education facilities and the local area.
– housekeeping duties.
– Maintain high standards of hygiene in the catering facility and ensure HACCUP regulations are adhered to.
– To make and serve barista grade coffee and assist with catering
– assisting in the day to day running of a retail offer.
– providing information about the site, its history, contents, offers and merchandise.
– promoting National Trust for Scotland brand to include our Membership scheme, events, upselling other properties and any promotional campaigns, being proactive in the selling of Membership and Gift Aid.

To maintain excellent standards of site and personal presentation at all times:-

– the general ongoing operational cleaning of all areas as necessary, toilet cleaning, emptying waste bins and as appropriate vacuum cleaning, mopping, sweeping, dusting and polishing where required.
– ensuring site is ready to open and welcome visitors by the set opening time.
– wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required.
– reporting all instances of damage and wear and tear issues promptly to your line manager.
– working in harmony with other departments; gardening, grounds maintenance and site repair employees/contractors.

Financial Responsibilities –

– To adhere to all financial procedures to include till operation and banking and safeguarding of monies: to implement amendments to standard procedure as instructions may dictate.

– To actively upsell products, services and memberships to facilitate the visitors’ enjoyment.

Health and Safety –

– To ensure site meets with Health and Safety legislation in liaison with your department manager.

– To ensure that visitors vacate the site at close of business and that the site is secured at end of day.

– To use personal protective equipment as provided and directed by your line manager.

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of National Trust for Scotland managed sites by maintaining the excellent standards we set across our properties to enable us to provide the best possible experience for our visitors. Providing an efficient, reliable service and high standards in housekeeping based on the needs of the property. Specifically, to ensure that all areas and public facilities are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, to make the property the best possible place to visit and work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The post is responsible to provide a consistently high standard for visitor care at all time and for a wide variety of housekeeping duties in connection with the well-being and care of the property. Besides the focus on the area housekeeping the role supports other VSA areas as admissions, catering, retail etc. in response to the needs to the business.
• Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness to all visited and non-visited areas of the property as directed by your line manager;
o The general ongoing operational cleaning of all areas as necessary, as toilet cleaning, emptying waste bins and as appropriate vacuum cleaning, mopping, sweeping, dusting and polishing when required etc.;
o Room changeover/turnaround, bedmaking etc. where required;
o Working with the public, cleaning during trading hours.
• Ensuring site is ready to open and welcome visitors by the set opening time;
• Actively support the Trust’s Conservation programme and undertake general housekeeping duties to the highest level of care which may include:
o In line with current NTS best practice, clean and care for the collection of furniture, books, artworks, glass, china silverware, other artifacts and delicate fabrics and curtains;
o Checking of collections and domestic inventories during changeover;
• Reporting losses/breakages, wear and tear and repairs required immediately to your line manager;
• Deliver excellent customer care (internal and external) to foster a friendly and inviting atmosphere for visitors, staff and volunteers;
• Working in harmony with other departments; visitor services, events, gardening, maintenance and site repair employees/contractors;
• Provide support to enable functions and events to be successfully delivered;
• Share in the common responsibility of working in a manner mindful of the Trust’s obligations to minimise impact on the environment, through e.g. efficient use of water/heat/light, recycling and the disposal of waste, considered use of transport;
• Follow Trust policy regarding Health and Safety, Environmental Sustainability, and Collections Care;
o Wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required;
o reporting all H&S hazards, fire risks, and instances of damage and wear and tear issues promptly to Maintenance Manager.

The current duties of this job do not require a criminal records (Disclosure Scotland) check to be carried out.

An exciting role as Team Leader – Admissions has arisen within RZSS, (the Royal Zoological Society for Scotland), at our Highland Wildlife Park site.

We are the conservation charity that owns Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park and have big ambitions to save wildlife and empower people in Scotland and around the world to protect, value and love nature.

The role

To coordinate the day-to-day Admissions and Visitor record systems and perform a range of administrative functions ensuring the smooth running of the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park’s Admissions Operations. Being the first point of contact for our visitors, ensure customer service is kept in line with best practice and visitor experience guidelines, and supports RZSS vision and mission

This is a part time and permanent role where the working hours are 30 hours per week and weekend working will be required.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Provide day to day supervision and coordination of the Admissions team, e.g. open and close the gate, communicating targets and monitoring sales and service performance, dealing with any issues which may arise.

Develop and maintain a supportive and dynamic first-class sales and customer service culture amongst the team focussing on delivering a skilled, professional welcome and exceeding visitor expectations.

Provide accurate administrative reporting for all Admission related processes as required, e.g. management information regarding admissions data (visitor numbers and types of visitors by nationality, and age) and assisting with Incident Action plans

Ensure the Admissions area is presented to the highest standards, fully stocked (till rolls, visitor maps) to enhance experience and sales and report any issues to Visitor Experience Manager and P&E team any maintenance issues regarding the integrity and safety of grounds, buildings and utilities.

What we’re looking for:

Educated to Higher Grade OR equivalent qualifications or experience.
Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and Equality regulations
Significant experience of leading a team in a customer service environment
Experience of working in a similar visitor attraction environment

Due to the nature of our operations weekend working will be required on a rotational basis.

As a Brand Home Lead Guide, you’ll be vital to the day-to-day management of the Brand Home, organising tours and allocating them to your team. You’ll provide vital support to the Management team with all operational activities relating to the experiential, bar and retail offerings.

The Tall Ship is Glasgow’s unique maritime attraction and one of only five Clydebuilt sailing ships left afloat in the world. Celtic Football Club is currently seeking part time Tour Guides to join the Visitor Centre at Celtic Park.

Reporting to the Head Tour Guide, our Tour Guides work to deliver the highest standard of stadium tour experience for our guests. They are tasked with representing the Football Club in a professional and friendly manner at all times, and are required to interact well with all of our guests – both locals and tourists alike. Tour Guides also assist with some of the logistics of our daily operations, including the set-up and breakdown of the tour route (both daily and pre/post match).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
To perform stadium tours to a high standard, representing Celtic Football Club in the best possible manner and interacting positively with our guests.
To adapt well to any changes which may present themselves, such as areas of the tour route potentially being closed due to other activity ongoing at the stadium.
To continually add to their individual knowledge base, both with regards to Celtic Football Club and the sport as a whole. This will include familiarising themselves with any changes to the contents of our display cabinets.
To help with the daily set-up/breakdown of the tour route, as well as full pre/post match setup/breakdowns of our operations. This will also include other logistical aspects as required.
To ensure continual vigilance regarding the Health and Safety of tour groups. Likewise, any concerns relating to Health and Safety must be identified, appropriately dealt with and flagged to the correct departments.
Proactive awareness of good Safeguarding practices.
To assist with any other needs of the business, as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential

Strong knowledge of the history of Celtic Football Club and Scottish football.
Previous experience working with the public.
Administration Skills.
Desirable

Strong grasp of literacy and numeracy; foreign language skills.
Previous experience of public speaking.
Previous experience working within the tourism and/or hospitality sectors.
Strong knowledge of wider football and sport.
Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required. You must also be able to work match days at home (pre-match, if required) and when Celtic are playing at away or neutral venues.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our visitor services team at The Tenement House. This is an exciting opportunity within the heritage industry. The Tenement House is a unique National Trust for Scotland property in Glasgow that focuses on womans history and life at the turn of the century, through the personal collections and archive of Miss Agnes Toward.
You should be passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and tours to our visitors and guests and able to maximise opportunities to generate income. It’s important that Visitor Service Assistants (VSA’s) ensure the property and its assets are safe and secure. Furthermore, we’re looking for team workers who are also able to use their own initiative and are driven to make a difference.
Our ideal candidate will be a keen storyteller able to conduct engaging tours for local and international visitors, with an eye for detail and a passion for our membership recruitment.
