JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our visitor services team at Holmwood House. This is an exciting opportunity within the heritage industry and the ideal candidate must be passionate about our vision for the future and what we do every day as a business: bringing people together and providing them with the greatest visitor experience.

Holmwood is a masterpiece of one of Scotland’s most brilliant architects and someone who profoundly shaped the city itself: Alexander Thomson. We are looking to inspire our visitors with its amazing architecture and design. You should be passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and tours to our visitors and guests and able to maximise opportunities to generate income. It’s important that Visitor Service Assistants (VSA’s) ensure the property and its assets are safe and secure. Furthermore, we’re looking for team workers who are also able to use their own initiative and are driven to make a difference.

JOB PURPOSE

Context
Greenbank Garden welcomes approx. 30,000 visitors between the garden, courtyard café & woodland walk. The role of VSA at Greenbank is primarily a catering role. The garden generates £150K per annum with catering accounting for 75K. Your role is to support the delivery of an excellent catering offer within the setting of a heritage garden. You will also be responsible for processing admissions, selling memberships and supporting property events and hospitality on occasion.
Must have weekend availability, hours will be issued on a monthly rota basis.

Providing an efficient, reliable service and high standards in housekeeping based on the needs of the property. Specifically, to ensure that all areas and public facilities are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, to make the property the best possible place to visit and work.

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of National Trust for Scotland managed sites by maintaining excellent standards of service, optimising opportunities to generate income and ensuring that the site and its assets are safe and secure.
Specifically, to support the smooth and safe operations of Weddings, Functions, and Travel trade groups. You may also be required to support Admissions, Retail, and Catering activities to suit the needs of the business.
Core hours will be the minimum hours available, with the opportunity to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business. Must have full weekend availability, hours will be issued on a rota basis.
This role will be required to work evenings and weekends to support the needs of the business

JOB PURPOSE
The gallery at Pollok House is a cultural asset created to enrich the Visitor Experience at Pollok House and function as a destination in its own right. You will welcome visitors to the gallery and help them to feel empowered as they experience the exhibitions.

The exhibition programme will enrich the stories of Pollok House by adding layers to the narratives of the core visit. Exhibitions will place the Maxwells and Glasgow in new historic and contemporary contexts to widen and diversify participation with Pollok House. The gallery will also provide the impetus for a brave and vibrant events programme. This will be delivered by VSA (Exhibitions and Engagement), volunteers, and external partners.

The gallery will increase visitor numbers to Pollok House and give the whole team at Pollok new opportunities to promote NTS and sell Membership. It will also encourage Members to return to the property, increasing membership retention. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the work of the National Trust for Scotland and securing its future by recruiting and maintinaing members.

This is an exciting time for Pollok Park and all its attractions. As the Burrell Collection prepares to reopen after an exciting refurbishment and redisplay, we except a significant increase in visitors. Visitor Services Assistants (Exhibitions and Engagement) will support the VSM (Audience Engagement) to develop a strategic relationship with colleagues at the Burrell Collection, cementing Pollok Park as a cultural destination for locals, Scots and international tourists.

You will be working in the gallery delivering handling workshops, delivering daily tours in the peak season, costumed presentations and facilitating school and military programmes.

This role is key to the visitor experience; your role is to put smiles on faces and ensure our visitors have an amazing visit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

This role will assist the Engagement team to deliver high quality visitor experience at Culloden Battlefield, and across the Culloden Cluster (including but not limited to):

• Deliver daily high quality informal and formal engagement programming
• Develop strong historical knowledge of site and wider area
• Be responsible and proactive. Ensuring all day-to-day tasks are completed including record keeping and reporting figures, cleaning, preparation and basic administration as required.
• To provide consistently excellent customer service when dealing with high volumes of customers
• Cash reconciliation duties including start and end of day tasks, must have experience handling cash accurately and processing sales
• Be able to take responsibility for your own development and learning.
• Have a flexible approach to working hours and days including working weekend and Bank Holidays as appropriate.
• To work across departments when necessary, supporting the wider Culloden cluster
• Adhering to the property’s quality standards including but not limited to the wearing of uniform.
• Ensuring health and welfare of property staff, volunteers, and visitors by adhering to the Trust’s Health, Safety and Environment policies and guidelines. This includes working within the property’s “Safe System of Work” (the system for managing Health & Safety).
• Ensuring Safe systems of work are implemented effectively within all activities

This role is one for which the duties, responsibilities or accountabilities of the role require you to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, administered by Disclosure Scotland. This role involves regulated work with children / vulnerable adults.

JOB PURPOSE

You will be responsible for delivering our commercial offer which includes membership, general admission, donations, some retail products and travel trade. You will be part of our Visit Scotland 5-star team acting as an ambassador for the site and the National Trust for Scotland.

This role is vital in providing an amazing welcome in all areas of the property and helping our visitors have a fantastic experience and to create wonderful memories. Based in the Welcome Hub, Retail, or Catering, your role is to make it a great part of their day. You’ll help us maximise sales through excellent customer service and product knowledge, taking a pride in Visitor Services presentation and your own approach to the role. Promoting all that National Trust for Scotland has to offer and encouraging them to be part of it.
