CONTEXT

Castle Fraser is situated in the foothills of the Grampian Mountains. Only 3 miles from the village of Kemnay the estate is set in the rolling farmland of Aberdeenshire with mixed forestry plantations nearby. The history of the Fraser family goes back to the 15th century with parts of the Castle itself date back to 1450. The castle and estate are a fabulous place for tourists and locals to soak up the atmosphere of old Scotland. JOB PURPOSE

To support the conservation of Castle Fraser by generating income through food and beverage operations and delivering the highest standard of visitor experience for all visitors.

With a passion for all things food related and of course great customer service, you will manage the tearoom within Castle Fraser.

You will lead the catering team with, menu design, food production, ordering, compliance, and commercial performance. Delivering a friendly, efficient service environment in line with the National Trust for Scotland’s policies, priorities, standards, and targets. You will help make our properties sustainable in every way.

You will be part of a broader management team responsible for delivering an overall visitor service strategy, promoting good communication across the site and a joined-up service provision.

JOB PURPOSE

Visiting our Café is an essential part of the visitor experience for those coming to Pollok House and the role of the Visitor Service Assistant – Catering is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us. This role will be required to work evenings to assist with weddings or other events

Core hours will be the minimum hours available, with the opportunity to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business. Must have full weekend availability, hours will be issued on a rota basis.
You may be required for additional support with other areas of the property such as Admissions, Retail, and Events activities to meet the business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times when:
• Welcoming all visitors to the site and processing their catering purchase in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner; supporting visitors with special needs / impairments and providing a high level of service in accordance with the Equality Act.
• Answering visitors’ queries about the catering offer, deals, seating, and ingredients.
• Checking on how visitors are enjoying their experience of catering at and enquiring whether all their needs are met.
• To maintain excellent standards of site and personal presentation at all times
• The general ongoing operational cleaning of all areas as necessary
• Wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required.

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise visitor enjoyment by providing an efficient and accurate service, and high standards in housekeeping based on the needs of the property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Housekeeper is responsible for a wide variety of housekeeping duties in connection with the well-being and care of the holiday accommodation and visitor facilities at Craigievar (as per the Trust’s Housekeeping Procedures Manual), including the following:

• Maintain stock-levels of housekeeping consumables and janitorial supplies.
• Routinely clean and look after the holiday accommodation and will involve but is not limited to:
o vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing of floors
o dusting/polishing of surfaces and fittings such as furniture, ornaments, panelling, stairs, and doors
o dusting/wiping of sills, skirtings, door, and window frames
o cleaning of windows
o cleaning of lavatories, sinks, etc
o changing of bed linen and towels, and making of beds
o cleaning of bathroom/toilet areas and fittings
o cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment
o checking functionality of lighting, heating, TV/radio etc
o replenishing of welcome/hospitality trays, and consumables
o cleaning and providing clean laundry for each occupancy
o disposal of general household waste

JOB PURPOSE

The Seabird Ranger will undertake a programme of monitoring key seabird species in order to ascertain breeding success and obtain an accurate estimate of population size. Through monitoring a greater understanding of the status of the colonies and the threats and issues affecting them will be achieved. This information will help in the protection of the seabirds and increase our understanding of their populations and environment. Submitted results will be collated into national datasets to inform a wider understanding of species numbers and health. The seabird monitoring programme will be guided by the NTS Senior Seabird Officer (to be appointed).
It is anticipated that the Seabird Ranger will work closely with one or more volunteers and be responsible for their day to day management
The Seabird Ranger will also be the face of the National Trust for Scotland on Mingulay during the busy summer months and will play a key role in welcoming visitors to help ensure their time on Mingulay is highly enjoyable and memorable, while helping to protect and enhance the island’s natural and cultural heritage.

The role

Providing a first-class sales and customer service experience to all visitors at RZSS Edinburgh Zoo and by providing information and assistance and ensuring an environment that is engaging and well maintained.

These are seasonal variable hours roles where the working hours will vary and weekend working will be required.

Some of the things you’ll do:

* Provide first-class customer service by maintaining a positive, welcoming environment, proactive and helpful attitude to all visitors, meeting or exceeding our Visitor Service Standards.
* Operate admissions, access systems and park vehicles efficiently and effectively to provide the best service and to agreed health and safety standards and ensure areas are organised, clean and tidy.
* Operate the cash floats efficiently and assist with the counting and recording of monies to agreed standards.
* To act as a public facing representative of RZSS in accordance with the Society’s core values.
* Ensure all front of house areas (car park, members gate, vehicle gate) are maintained to the highest standard, ensuring tickets, leaflets and information are regularly replenished, all areas are clean and clear, all posters and signs are presented as directed.

The Courtyard Cafe is seeking to recruit a Seasonal Team Leader for the 2022 season. The right candidate will work closely with the Catering Manager and Visitor Experience Manager (VEM) to ensure the smooth running of the Café. At peak times during the season, the Café can be very busy and the right candidate must be able to handle high volumes of visitors and be efficient under pressure.

The responsibilities will include:

• Leading a team of front of house staff, ensuring high standards of friendly and efficient customer service are always met
• Ensuring the team maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow all hygiene rules
• Making and serving barista coffees and teas, serving food
• Handling cash and card transactions and cashing up
• Ensuring that the kitchen, café and outdoor courtyard areas are kept clean and checked regularly
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner
• Managing any café bookings through email or phone and overseeing any group/coach bookings
• Organising staff rotas, alongside the Catering Manager and Visitor Experience Manager, to ensure staffing levels are maintained to deliver a high quality service within the allocated budget

You will need excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to lead a team and also to work on your own initiative.

You must have a smart appearance, plus be confident and professional in dealing with customers.

A positive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude with ability to work well in a busy environment.

A proven multi-tasker who is organised, efficient and productive as well as being accurate and having great attention to detail.

You will also be responsible for leading the front of house team and the general running of the Café on a daily basis.

The role is fixed term March–October. You will be required to work five days out of seven, to include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Experience is preferred but training can be provided.
