About the role
The role is varied, and all experience colleagues work within our café, specialist whisky shop and conduct guided distillery tours.
Delivering five-star customer service, from point of welcome to departure, and going above and beyond to exceed the customer expectations.
Seven-day operation, must be able to work weekends. Evening and private event work may be required. Full-time and part-time roles available.

About you
A true passion for all things Scotch whisky!
Previous customer service within hospitality, retail and tourism is beneficial due to the nature of the role and must ensure to deliver excellent customer service at all points in the customer journey.
Have an approachable and friendly personality who strives to make a customer’s day and visit to Glasgow. The simplest question of what else they have planned for that day and providing personal recommendations can enhance their trip and explore places they didn’t think of.

JOB PURPOSE

The Seasonal Ranger will support the Culzean Rangers team during the busy summer months. Specifically, to combine responsibilities on nature conservation, visitor services, learning and community engagement to help deliver the strategic objectives of the property and wider National Trust for Scotland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Visitor Services
• Welcoming and engaging visitors, enhancing their experience by providing information about Culzean, its geology, natural and cultural heritage, including strong messages around safety and respect for wildlife.
• Encourage people to further contribute to caring for Culzean through donating or taking up membership of NTS.
• Assist with practical countryside management including litter picks, beach cleans maintenance and safety checks of visitor infrastructure (including play parks).
• Lead and assist with events such as guided walks and talks as appropriate.

Nature conservation
• Contribute to biological monitoring programmes.
• Manage and collate biological information in a consistent manner compatible with Trust and national datasets.

Learning
• Assist with educational and other outreach activities on site or to the local community and to communities of interest, including for volunteers.

Marketing & Communications
• Enthusiastically promote awareness and understanding of the role that NTS plays in protecting and caring for Culzean and wider work across Scotland.
• Regularly update and contribute positive stories to NTS social media and other communication outlets relevant to Culzean.
Livestock Management
• Will support the team with feeding and care of the property’s livestock; deer and llama.

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise visitor enjoyment by providing an efficient and accurate service, and high standards in housekeeping based on the needs of the property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Housekeeper is responsible for a wide variety of housekeeping duties in connection with the well-being and care of the holiday accommodation and visitor facilities at Craigievar (as per the Trust’s Housekeeping Procedures Manual), including the following:

• Maintain stock-levels of housekeeping consumables and janitorial supplies.
• Routinely clean and look after the holiday accommodation and will involve but is not limited to:
o vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing of floors
o dusting/polishing of surfaces and fittings such as furniture, ornaments, panelling, stairs, and doors
o dusting/wiping of sills, skirtings, door, and window frames
o cleaning of windows
o cleaning of lavatories, sinks, etc
o changing of bed linen and towels, and making of beds
o cleaning of bathroom/toilet areas and fittings
o cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment
o checking functionality of lighting, heating, TV/radio etc
o replenishing of welcome/hospitality trays, and consumables
o cleaning and providing clean laundry for each occupancy
o disposal of general household waste

• To be first point of contact in case of queries or questions from clients regarding the holiday property and to provide additional service or help when requested.
• Assist with the administration of any repair works.
• Monitor the condition of furniture – reporting any loss or damage to the Visitor Services Manager
• Ensure COVID 19 Guidelines and Safe Systems of Work is implemented effectively within function and with external contractors.
• Undertake any administration required in support of housekeeping, including (but not limited to): planning regimes for routine and in-depth cleaning; stock control and ordering of recommended cleaning consumables/janitorial supplies; recording work undertaken.
• Deliver excellent customer care to foster a friendly and inviting atmosphere for visitors.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide operational coordination and supervision of retail, learning, visitor services, and events at in line with the Trust’s policies, priorities, performance standards and targets to contribute to the enjoyment of the property by visitors and members, and help ensure commercial, financial, and conservation objectives are achieved.
The Visitor Services Supervisor at a Trust property plays a pivotal role ensuring that the management objectives are achieved through excellent customer service, and, with delegated responsibility for catering, retail, events and duty management is very often the “face” of the Trust to visitors and suppliers. As such, s/he directly influences public perceptions of the Trust and is crucial to developing and maintaining the property’s local/national reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervising/undertaking the day-to-day operation of the Palace and gardens to ensure an excellent customer/visitor experience. This includes supervision of:
• Visitor services, Catering, events and retail offer (including ordering, merchandising, sales targets);
• Line management of Visitor Services Assistants and volunteers
• Duty management and oversight/maintenance of the property
• Ensure the property social media is managed to generate interest, engagement and help drive visitors
• Deliver the schools programme to meet the targets for number of visits, revenue generated
• Support the informal learning and community engagement / outreach activity
• Ticketing & Membership sales (to targets) and general customer service (individuals, education visits, other groups);

As part of the property team, assist with the conservation and development of the properties and gardens to ensure that Craigievar Castle and Estate are presented at the highest standards to its visitors and guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Key Purposes of the job will be met by:
1. Undertaking practical maintenance of the garden (e.g. managing trees and shrubs, herbaceous plants, and bulbsturf care; pest/disease/weed control; composting and soil improvement; hard-landscaping; path care) to the required standards expected by the Trust and for the maximum safety of, and enjoyment by, visitors;
2. As requested, assisting with education/interpretation activities such as introductory talks and guided walks;
3. Fostering positive relationships promote the work of the Trust, and actively seek opportunities to increase Trust membership;
4. On occasion, working with volunteers and/or staff members to ensure they deliver required outputs at the appropriate standard, and gain benefit/satisfaction from their activities;
5. Demonstrating self motivation, organizing, planning, and prioritizing and good time management;
6. Undertaking such other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required to ensure the smooth running of the property as required by the Head Gardener.

SCOPE OF JOB

People Management
 Not a line manager but will, on occasion, supervise volunteers and staff under instructions from Head Gardener;

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and talented customer focused individuals to join our team at House of Dun.
House of Dun is a fabulous place for tourists and locals to soak up the atmosphere of old Scotland. Staff should be passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences to our visitors and guests and able to maximise opportunities to generate income. It’s important that Visitor Service Assistants (VSA’s) ensure the property and its assets are safe and secure. Furthermore, we’re looking for team workers who are also able to use their own initiative and are driven to make a difference.

This role is about creating a 5 star visitor experience and providing outstanding customer service.

As a member of our Visitor Services team your job is to give visitors from across the globe a warm welcome to House of Dun and help generate the income that enables us to care for the property and other National Trust for Scotland properties.

Visiting our Cafés is an essential part of the visitor experience and the role of the Visitor Service Assistant – Food & Beverage is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us.

You will help us maximise sales through excellent customer service and product knowledge, taking a pride in presentation and effective behind-the-scenes processes.
