An Admin Assistant position is currently available to support our Marketing and Communications, Digital Content and Audience Insight teams.

Reporting to the Interim Director of Audience and Digital, you will provide support to these teams across a range of areas including:

• Meeting organisation and minuting
• Document collation and distribution for meetings
• Diary management
• Support with managing administration forms across the teams – expenses, holiday, absence forms etc
• Colleague event logistics and support including managing sign-ups, analysis and feedback, encouraging participation and in-person support
• Preparation of mailing lists and colleague pack preparation
• Support with logistics for NGS video production including our regular live colleague broadcast
• Transcriptions of video and audio content
• Monitoring and first line responses to specific mailboxes
• Coordination for collaborative document preparation
• Other administration tasks as required

The role will be part-time based at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art but will be suitable for flexible working where appropriate.

Art Movement Team

The Art Movement Team works to national standards supporting complex national and international programming in the handling, packing, movement, installation and location tracking of a wide variety of artworks, including NGS Collection works and those on loan to NGS.

The main purpose of the post of Art Handling Technician is to ensure the safe movement, transportation and installation of all artworks within the NGS, including collections from and returns of artworks to lenders. The post holder also assists in maintaining the upkeep of the storage areas, exhibits, tools and equipment.

The Art Handling Technician is responsible to the Art Movement Manager through the Senior Art Handling Technicians, to whom they are answerable for the performance of their duties on a day to day basis.

Art Handling Technician Duties:

• Provide safe and efficient movement of art works and other objects within NGS and to other institutions, including risk assessments and method statements as required
• Contribute to resource and planning discussions as and when required in line with skills and experience
• Lead on individual project elements as requested by the Senior Technicians and Art Movement Manager
• Maintain location records following NGS procedure
• Pack and unpack objects and check conservation condition reports
• Use of computer for internal communications and access to standard forms and procedures.
• As part of the team, be responsible for care and maintenance of team equipment, including highlighting any concerns to the appropriate forum
• Awareness of and commitment to health and safety compliance and best practice

£26,000 pro-rata (0.8 FTE).

Dundee Science Centre is currently looking for positive, resourceful, and confident individuals to join our team to fulfil the key role of Senior Science Communicator in a part-time capacity.

You will guide and co-ordinate the day-to-day STEM audience engagement aspects within Dundee Science Centre and across 3rd party sites to ensure an environment that is engaging, fun and provides an excellent visitor experience. You will have responsibility for the smooth daily operation of Dundee Science Centre’s STEM programmes and services by supporting the Visitor Experience Leader (VEL).
You will support, train and coach the wider Visitor Experience Team in elements of science communication to ensure the quality of delivery by team members meets the audience expectations and standards. Primary objectives will be championing enhanced visitor engagement, ensuring that audiences have an enjoyable, safe, and inspiring experience.
You will be responsible for: developing and delivering high quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programmes across all audiences in a blended approach with a key focus on digital, in-centre, outreach and in homes in line with Dundee Science Centre’s key aims and objectives, alongside local and national government initiatives, and priorities.
You will be an ambassador for and the public face of Dundee Science Centre. You will be an excellent communicator and an effective team player with the ability to multi-task. Your main function will be to interact with all visitors in a friendly, outgoing manner ensuring an exceptional experience.

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise visitor enjoyment by providing an efficient and accurate service, and high standards in housekeeping based on the needs of the property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Housekeeper is responsible for a wide variety of housekeeping duties in connection with the well-being and care of visitor facilities at Leith Hall (as per the Trust’s Housekeeping Procedures Manual), including the following:

• Maintain stock-levels of housekeeping consumables and janitorial supplies.
• Routinely clean and look after the staff and commercial areas of the property and will involve but is not limited to:
o vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing of floors
o dusting/wiping of sills, skirtings, door, and window frames
o cleaning of windows
o cleaning of lavatories, sinks, etc
o cleaning of bathroom/toilet areas and fittings
o cleaning of commercial kitchen areas and equipment
o checking functionality of lighting, heating
o replenishing of consumables
o disposal of general household waste

• Assist with the administration of any repair works.
• Monitor the condition of furniture – reporting any loss or damage to the Visitor Services Supervisor
• Ensure COVID 19 Guidelines and Safe Systems of Work is implemented effectively within function and with external contractors.
• Undertake any administration required in support of housekeeping, including (but not limited to): planning regimes for routine and in-depth cleaning; stock control and ordering of recommended cleaning consumables/janitorial supplies; recording work undertaken.
• Deliver excellent customer care to foster a friendly and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
• Share in the common responsibility of working in a manner mindful of the Trust’s obligations to minimise impact on the environment, through e.g. efficient use of water/heat/light, recycling and the disposal of waste, and considered use of transport.
• In accordance with the property’s procedures, share in the common responsibility for the safe evacuation or management of colleagues and visitors in the event of a fire or security alert or alarm. This includes weekly fire alarm checks whilst cleaning and keeping a record of the checks.

The current duties of this job do not require a criminal record (Disclosure Scotland) check to be carried out.

As a Collections Care Assistant, you will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day care of collections at Castle Fraser
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that best preventive conservation and collections care practices are followed through the implementation of an effective collections care regime in line with Trust policies and procedures.
The role will include engaging with visitors about the collection care work of the National Trust for Scotland when undertaking cleaning activities in the house but also work with events team to develop collection based educational events for children and adults.
The post holder will also work closely with the function and event team ensuring all functions and events are operated in such a manner as to minimise risk to the collection without compromising the event itself.
The post holder will be part of a wider team of employees and volunteers, helping to support the property where necessary.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide the highest degree of customer service: greet and welcome all visitors to the property; recruit new Trust members and promote fund-raising initiatives; deliver appropriate admissions procedures; and provide general visitor information.
To provide operational coordination of retail, admissions, visitor services, and events when required at Culross Palace in line with the Trust’s policies, priorities, performance standards and targets to contribute to the enjoyment of the property by visitors and members, and help ensure commercial, financial, and conservation objectives are achieved.

A key aspect of this role it to support the commercial performance of the retail offer at Culross Palace by encouraging increased turnover and maximizing visitor enjoyment by offering a high quality service based on our customer needs and expectations. This role is essential to deliver excelled performance of retail and admission sales and the profitability delivers a positive contribution to the financial sustainability of Culross Palace.

Please note that the job involves some physical activity in the form of long periods of standing.

Some flexibility will be required as to when hours are worked and regular weekend working will be expected.

Is a key holder for the Townhouse shop and will be required to open/close the Townhouse shop and admission area.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
 No formal educational qualifications required – full training will be given.
 Excellent literacy and numeracy ability – preferably with previous cash-handling / form-filling work experience.
 Excellent empathetic skills and be a very able verbal communicator
 Demonstrable experience of working equally well on own initiative and within a team environment
 Demonstrable working experience dealing with a wide range of people – preferably in a front of house role
 Ability to think and act quickly when confronted with emergencies
 Personal commitment to high standards of customer care
