KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times.
 Welcoming all visitors to the site and processing their catering purchase in a friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable manner; supporting visitors with special needs / impairments and providing a high level of service in accordance with the Equality Act.
 Answering visitors’ queries about the catering offer, deals, seating, and ingredients.
 Checking on how visitors are enjoying their experience of catering at and enquiring whether all their needs are met.
 To maintain excellent standards of site and personal presentation at all times.
 The general ongoing operational cleaning of all areas as necessary.
 Wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required.

Customer Service

 Regular interaction with members of the public of all ages and abilities.

Teamwork

Sales, stock and financial processes

 Help achieve sales targets and membership recruitment targets
 Operate tills and share end of day cash reconciliation duties, as appointed by Visitor Services Supervisor
 Regularly assist in ordering all necessary food and dry goods

Tools/equipment and cleaning chemicals

 Occasional user of cleaning chemicals.
 Expected to become familiar with and comply with the property’s Health and Safety policies or Safe Systems of Work’.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of House of The Binns by maintaining excellent standards of service, optimising opportunities to generate income and ensuring that the site and its assets are safe and secure. To ensure the smooth and safe running of operations in Admissions, Tours and Event activities.

To provide the highest degree of customer service: greet and welcome all visitors to the property; recruit new Trust members and promote fund-raising initiatives; deliver appropriate admissions procedures; and provide general visitor information. Please note that the job involves some physical activity in the form of periods of standing, walking, etc.
Some flexibility will be required as to when hours are worked and regular weekend working will be expected.

This role will assist the property team in delivering a high-quality visitor experience at House of the Binns (including but not limited to):

 Providing excellent customer service.

Finance Management
 This role will involve cash reconciliation duties as appointed by the Visitor Services Supervisor.

The role

Co-ordinate the daily visitor operations at Highland Wildlife Park, ensuring the delivery of an accessible, exciting, and secure visitor attraction, five-star customer service standards and income levels in line with agreed targets.

Act as duty manager on a rostered basis, liaising closely with the living collections duty manager and other colleagues. Manage incidents and their impact on visitors as and when they arise

Some of the things you’ll do:

Line manage visitor experience assistants and assist with gate ( sentry), administration, on-site transport, car park and customer service, e.g. telephone and email handling
Contribute to and support the delivery of commercial events at HWP including photography tours, seasonal events and exclusive tours (including duty manager duties during events)
Act as visitor duty manager on a rostered basis, which requires the post holder to manage and oversee the daily operations of the site during opening hours and respond to incidents
Support the delivery of a five-star customer service culture and visitor experience, ensuring visitors receive a personal, knowledgeable and positive level of service on a daily basis
Support and deliver customer service training, working alongside HR and other colleagues. Gather face to face visitor feedback.
Support the induction process for visitor experience staff

Part-Time/Fixed Term – This role is fixed term to 31/10/2023 and the working hours are 30 hours per week.

The role

To coordinate the day-to-day catering operations to deliver first-class visitor experience and that your team and visitors enjoy a safe and happy environment; whilst generating income to exceed agreed targets in support of RZSS vision and mission.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Working with direction from the Catering Coordinators, provide day-to-day supervision of the Catering team.
Develop and maintain a supportive and dynamic first-class sales and service culture amongst the team -focusing on delivering high standards of service and food presentation in accordance with Cook safe regulations.

Ensure the Café areas are presented to the highest standards (displays, seating areas, signage), fully stocked and equipment is cleaned, maintained and serviced on a regular basis and report to the Coordinator any maintenance issues.

Support Visitor Experience Assistants with visitor complaints and act a route of escalation to deal with refunds in a professional manner and referring customer to your line manager if complaint cannot be resolved.

Working alongside the back of house team to ensure the smooth running of the cafe and outdoor catering areas as one united team.
What we’re looking for:

Starting pro-rated salary of £18,094 per annum (based on 30 hours per week)
Good achievement at Higher grade level (including English & Mathematics) or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Trained/certificate in Cooksafe and has ability/qualification to train others
Good understanding and use of electronic cash systems.
Significant experience of leading a team in a customer service environment

2022 was a phenomenal year for our charity and its parks as we launched a new Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) strategy pledging to reverse the decline of at least 50 species by 2030.

At our Highland Wildlife Park, we saw our polar bear cub (Brodie) take his first steps outside, welcomed the arrival of three snow leopard cubs, continued our fantastic work on the saving the critically endangered pine hoverfly and had a very successful first breed season of our Scottish Wildcats with 22 kittens being born… and that’s just in one year!

In these roles you will provide a first-class customer service experience. As Catering Assistant you will work to provide a consistently high-quality food service experience to all visitors at RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, Our Visitor Experience Assistants provide information and assistance, ensuring an environment that is engaging and well maintained.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Provide first-class customer service by maintaining a positive, welcoming environment, proactive and helpful attitude to all visitors at all times, meeting or exceeding our Customer Service Standards.

Visitor Experience
Ensure all work areas are maintained to the highest standard, ensuring stocks are regularly replenished, all areas are clean and clear, all products are displayed as directed.
Operate admissions systems efficiently and effectively to both sell and upsell products.
Operate the tills efficiently and assist with the counting and recording of monies to agreed standards.
Respond to unexpected situations in a professional manner and seek advice and support from line manager when required.??

Catering:
Ensure work areas are maintained to the highest health, safety and hygiene standards
Ensure all areas are clean and clear, storerooms are well stocked and organized at all times, all kitchenware/equipment is clean and stored appropriately
Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas
Assisting with basic food preparations

What we’re looking for:

Good achievement in standard grades (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
Accurate numerical reasoning skills and attention to detail.
Engaging customers empathetically to link or upsell our products.
Providing first-class customer care and service, including dealing with customer queries.
Food Safety and Hygiene (level 2 certification) or willingness to obtain
