JOB PURPOSE
To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of National Trust for Scotland managed sites by maintaining excellent standards of service, optimising opportunities to generate income and ensuring that the site and its assets are safe and secure.
Specifically, to ensure the smooth and safe operations in hospitality services at Culzean.
Core hours will be the minimum hours available, with the opportunity to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business. Must have full weekend availability, hours will be issued on a rota basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times
• Welcoming visitors to the site and processing their admission/retail or catering purchase in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner;

• The general ongoing operational cleaning of all areas as necessary, toilet cleaning, emptying waste bins and as appropriate vacuum cleaning, mopping, sweeping, dusting and polishing when required;
• To ensure good housekeeping of the Eisenhower rooms to include the communal areas, bedrooms & Bathrooms
• Ensuring site is ready to open and welcome visitors by the set opening time;
• Wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required.
• Reporting all instances of damage and wear and tear issues promptly to your line manager;
• Working in harmony with other departments; housekeeping, gardening, grounds maintenance and site repair employees/contractors.

Financial Responsibilities (where applicable)
• To adhere to all financial procedures to include till operation and banking and safeguarding of monies: to implement amendments to standard procedure as instructions may dictate.

Hospitality/Catering duties
• To ensure good housekeeping of catering kitchens, serveries and back of house areas.

Job Purpose

Brodick Castle is an idyllic island destination and visitor attraction on the Isle of Arran. Nestled in a beautiful and picturesque setting just north of Glasgow, stands our beautiful Glengoyne Distillery. At the heart of our brand, product and experience are our people… it’s our people who make all of the magic happen!

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Brand Homes Duty Manager to join our established, hardworking team at the Glengoyne Distillery on a part time basis. The role holder will be part of the sites management team and be responsible for leading the established team of Distillery Ambassadors, in the delivery of tours, tastings, events, trade visits and all visit related activity to a high standard. We are looking for a Cook to join our Catering team. We welcome hundreds of people each week to our Centre and this role ensures that the variety, quality, and sustainability of food products provided through our Seabird Café contributes to the customer’s overall experience.

The Cook supports the preparation of the food on the menu for our daily service and occasional events.

Principal responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Cook are:

i. Check the quality of ingredients and prepare these to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, preparing salads etc.).
ii. Learn and become familiar with the cooking process, equipment and appliances used to make each of our dishes.
iii. Ensure great presentation of our food, by dressing dishes before they are served.
iv. Cook dishes under the supervision of the Catering Manager or the Chef and develop sufficient competence to provide cover during staff absences/holiday cover.
v. Ensure that all dishes for a single order are ready for serving at the same time and co-ordinate effectively with the café serving team.
vi. Take responsibility for maintaining and cleaning the kitchen area/equipment ensuring that all appropriate standards are met.
vii. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
viii. Monitor stock levels and advise the Catering Manager or Chef of any orders that need to be placed.
ix. Ensure that all duties are undertaken in compliance with health and safety, food standards and hygiene regulations and practices, as well as our internal procedures.
x. Carry out any other reasonable duty which is within the competence of the post.

The Real Mary King’s Close is buried deep beneath Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. On their fully guided tour, guests follow Edinburgh’s past residents in these underground alleyways and hear the real stories of the people who lived, worked and died there. Join us to experience over 400 years of history and unlock the secrets of Edinburgh’s only preserved 17th-century street.

An opportunity has arisen to contribute to the further success of this attraction and we require a Tour Guide and Guest Services Team Member. Through our exceptional training programme, you will have the skills to lead our guided tours as well as greeting guests, processing bookings and working in our café.

As a Tour Guide, you will deliver an exceptional experience ensuring all of our guests take away lasting memories.

Using a mix of expert knowledge and humour, you will be hosting and delivering scripted content with an injection of your own creative flair. We are looking for people who enjoy being centre stage and bags of personality is a must. This role will offer the right candidate the opportunity to be part of a team to have fun delivering exceptional guest experience.

The role also includes assisting with private evening hire and event operations as and when required.

We are looking for team members with sparkle and passion, that are genuinely interested in providing high quality guest service and telling the stories of our unique attraction. A team playing attitude is a must.

Community Co-production Officer
£31,487 – £34,942 per annum (pro rata)

Culture Perth and Kinross are seeking an individual experienced in community co-production within a cultural or creative setting to lead the development and delivery of a co-produced art display to sit at the heart of the opening exhibition programme for the new Perth Museum opening in 2024. The post-holder will have strong links with currently under-represented groups or communities and a track record of project managing the co-production process and championing community perspectives and creativity within a museum, gallery, or similar visitor attraction environment.

This is a fixed-term post for the development of the temporary exhibition, and will work closely with the Exhibitions team at Perth Museum and Perth Art Gallery, and our partners Perth and Kinross Council.

JOB PURPOSE
To provide all-round assistance in the art gallery and craft shop at Souter Johnnie’s Gallery, Kirkoswald. The Supervisor will be involved in arranging new exhibitions, liaising with artists and buyers and record-keeping. They will make sure that exhibits are well coordinated and will work with artists in planning and organization of exhibitions and events. The Supervisor will be the sole member of staff on site and, as such, will also provide excellent customer service in the property. They will also be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of local volunteers. The Supervisor is the face of the gallery and will interact effectively with visitors, artists and suppliers, and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• The Supervisor is responsible for a wide variety of duties in connection with the presentation, operation, cleanliness and maintenance of the property.
• Maintain the highest standards of customer and visitor service ensuring all visitors enjoy their visit to the Gallery and will recommend it to others. They will work on the execution of upcoming exhibitions, and to provide gallery reception during regular business hours. Act as an installation coordinator for the set-up and hanging of exhibitions. Monitor and keep track of supplies and the supply budget. Manage day-to-day operations.
• Responsible for maintaining retail and gallery stock, processing sales and replenishment in conjunction with the retail team at RBBM.
• Light cleaning duties will also be the responsibility of the GS.
• Ensuring the security of the property and its contents, keeping the building clean and functional, following best-practice at all times, and maintaining its 3 star VisitScotland, and Bronze Green Tourism award, rating.
• Recruitment, training and management of volunteers who will help in the running of the property and events.
• Promoting and encouraging visitors to complete visitor surveys at the property or gathering contact details for survey at a later date.

Specific duties include:
• Organise exhibitions of artworks at the property to ensure there is an interesting and engaging programme throughout the season. Provide appropriate display / storage, competent object handling, liaise with artists and suppliers and comprehensive record keeping.
• Effective promotion of the exhibitions to drive footfall and achieve sales targets
• Delivering high standards of customer service in a gallery setting, handling customer enquiries online, on the telephone and face to face
• Ensure high standards of presentation at the property through housekeeping (cleaning floors, toilets and serving areas); general tidying of the grounds and light gardening duties (although main gardening work will fall to RBBM gardening team)
• General management of the gallery including opening, closing and alarm setting; cash-handling and banking;
• Promoting the benefits of NTS membership to achieve sales targets at the property
• Recruitment and training of local volunteers to assist in day-to-day operations and events
The current duties of this job do not require a criminal records (Disclosure Scotland) check to be carried out.

Health and Safety
• To ensure site meets with Health and Safety legislation in liaison with your department manager.
• To ensure that visitors vacate the site at close of business and that the site is secured at end of day.
• To use personal protection equipment as provided and directed by your line manager

DIMENSIONS AND SCOPE OF JOB

Scale
 Responsible for the day-to-day management of Souter Johnnies Cottage as an art gallery, typically welcoming around 3,000 visitors per annum and an income of £3,000

People Management
• Line managed and supported by RBBM Operations Manager. Will also work closely with other property colleagues, and will have interaction with other technical/specialist advisory colleagues based in other locations and departments
• Management of property volunteers

 This is a physical job, which may include use of ladders, stepladders, working at heights, lifting, fetching and carrying objects

JOB PURPOSE

Do you have a passion for food and dedicated to high levels of customer service?

Visiting our Café is an essential part of the visitor experience for those coming to Pollok House and the role of the Visitor Service Assistant – Food & Beverage is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us. Our café is a busy operation, and the ideal candidate should be experienced in a high volume, fast paced environment. Barista experience would be beneficial for this role however training will be given.
We also operate as a function venue so this role will be required to work evenings on occasion to assist with weddings or other events. Previous experience in a function venue dealing with large scale dinner service and bar service would be beneficial.

Core hours will be the minimum hours available, with the opportunity to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business. Must have full weekend availability, hours will be issued on a rota basis.
We pride ourselves on creating a team work ethic here at Pollok house so you may be required for additional support with other areas of the property such as Admissions, Retail, and Events activities to meet the business needs.
