Follow Trust policy regarding Health and Safety, Environmental Sustainability, and Collections Care.

Wearing correct uniform, name badges, costume or PPE as required.

Reporting all H&S hazards or fire risks immediately.

Working with specialists within the NTS and external contractions for the maintenance and preservation of the site and collection

The Scottish Fisheries Museum has a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant.

The Administrative Assistant will support all aspects of office and facilities support while working directly with the Business Manager and a wide range of people including staff, volunteers, Board Members, suppliers, and contractors.

Part-time (30 hours per week/5 days); 25 days leave plus 8 days public holiday per annum; six months term with the possibility of extension

To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times

Welcoming visitors to the site and processing their admission/retail purchase in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner.

Welcoming groups in an efficient and warm manner.

Answering visitors’ queries about the site and the local area.

Proactively engaging with visitors about the site, its history, contents, offers and merchandise.

Promoting the National Trust for Scotland brand, to include our Membership scheme, events, upselling other properties and any promotional campaigns, being proactive in the selling of Membership and Gift Aid.

On occasion conduct guided tours of Falkland Palace to the general public and visiting groups.

Ensuring site is ready to open and welcome visitors by the set opening time.

Reporting all instances of damage and wear and tear issues promptly to your line manager.

Financial Responsibilities (where applicable)

To adhere to all financial procedures to include till operation and safeguarding of monies: to implement amendments to standard procedure as instructions may dictate.Visitor Services/Retail/Events/Cashier duties (where applicable)

To ensure that retail merchandising is in accordance with NTS policy.

To assist in achieving site retail/membership/events targets and KPI’s.

To actively upsell products and services to facilitate the visitor’s enjoyment.

To actively feedback visitor comments to line managers to develop and improve offer, service, operations.

To work flexibly across departments and Fife Properties as needed.

To assist with the set-up, stewarding and break-down of events in liaison with the management.

To assist with Heritage Hospitality events. This may include evening work.

To ensure good housekeeping in back of house areas.

Undertaking practical maintenance of the garden e.g. litter picking; managing trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, annual vegetables, annual flowers for drying, and bulbs; harvesting of fruit and vegetables, assisting with plant sales, irrigating potted plants, turf care; pest/disease/weed control; staking, plant nutrition, composting and soil improvement to the required standards expected by the Trust and for the maximum safety of, and enjoyment by visitors including other professionals in the horticultural industry.

Contributing to the management, conservation, sustainability, and development of the garden through plant propagation, cultivation, and the maintenance of appropriate plant records and labelling.

Engaging with visitors and assisting with education/interpretation activities such as introductory talks and guided walks.

Fostering positive relationships with local communities and organisations to promote the work of the Trust.

Working with volunteers, and on occasion supervising, to ensure they deliver required outputs at the appropriate standard, and gain benefit/satisfaction from their activities.

Undertaking such other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required to ensure the smooth running of the property as required by the Operations Manager. This includes some weekend working.

The role of Duty Manager is to assist with the management and facilitation of events at Greyfriars Kirk – mainly weekday and weekend evenings. The Kirk employs Duty Managers to oversee or manage events such as rehearsals, concerts, wedding receptions, dances/ceilidhs visitor opening and recordings. For all activities associated with specific events, the Duty Manager will report to the Operations Manager.The Duty Manager is the Kirk’s first point of contact for Kirk-related matters concering events. For third party events the Kirk’s Duty Manager will liaise with the 3rd party’s event manager to ensure that the Kirk’s facilities are provided as agreed in the licencee contract.

This is a key role to deliver a high-quality visitor experience at Culzean Castle and Country Park (including but not limited to):

To provide excellent customer service.

Be responsible and proactive. Ensuring all day-to-day tasks are completed including responding to customer enquiries, answering the telephone, recording statistics, cleaning Paybox at the end of the day and ensuring the entrance is secure at the end of the day.

Working with the Visitor Services Supervisor and the rest of the Visitor Services Team to deliver membership targets and KPI’s

Cash reconciliation duties including end of day administration tasks. Ensuring cash is handled accurately according to our cash handling procedures.

To ensure high levels of accuracy are maintained for all transactions and data recording

To actively ensure all selling opportunities are touched on through strong product knowledge and an excellent customer service to maximise sales of admission tickets, membership and donations.

To develop a working knowledge of the history of the site and being able to relate that to visitors in a friendly and engaging way

To provide consistently excellent customer service when dealing with high volumes of customers

Adhering to the property’s quality standards

Ensuring health and welfare of property staff, volunteers and visitors by adhering to the Trust’s Health, Safety and Environment policies and guidelines. This includes working within the property’s “Safe System of Work” (the system for managing Health & Safety).

We are looking for friendly and confident individuals to join our team of tour guides. You will be expected to conduct informative and entertaining guided tours of Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium for members of the public and pre-arranged private tours.

Public and private stadium tours run Monday-Saturday, subject to events, so flexibility and Saturday availability are essential.

Glengoyne is located North of Glasgow on the A81 at Dumgoyne, and as a result of the remote location and required working hours, we are looking for candidates who live within a commutable distance to the Distillery and ideally have their own mode of transport. In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate that they currently have the required documents to live and work in the UK.

What We Will Provide You…

This is a part-time, permanent job opportunity with a highly competitive hourly rate of £12.60. In addition, we offer a generous benefits package. Our Housekeeping roles are offered on an annualised hours contract meaning you will receive a guaranteed monthly income.

For this particular opportunity, we are looking for someone to join us on either a 12 hour basis (Friday and Saturday) or an 18 hour basis (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). In line with our business needs, it is anticipated the normal working pattern for this opportunity will be 6.30am to 12.30pm. We are therefore looking for candidates who are able to commit to these specific working days and times.

There will also be a requirement to work additional hours from time to time, providing cover for annual leave. As working shifts will be dependent on the needs of the business, hours may fluctuate in line with consumer demand, so we are therefore looking for individuals who can be flexible in their approach.
