Scottish Canals is looking for a Destination Supervisor for The Caledonian Canal Centre in Fort Augustus. The Destination Supervisor will have responsibility for operation of the visitor centre and the successful candidate will manage all employees to ensure the smooth running running of the catering delivery and service, rooms and retail areas.

You will set the standard and ensure staff exceed visitor expectations at all times. Customer care is of primary importance. You will manage and influence the visitor journey from first engagement until they leave, satisfied with their experience. 

Training, mentoring and leading front of house staff to create a visitor experience team who greet, engage, enthuse, excite and inform all visitors and who “go the extra mile” to make a visit to the Caledonian Canal Centre the best it should be.

The Destination Supervisor be responsible for:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To assist the Head Stalker in managing and enhancing the game resource and conservation activities on Mar Lodge Estate in accordance with the management plan.

The position plays a key role in the practical implementation of written management plans on the ground. This includes carrying out works in some of the most ecologically significant wildlife communities within the Cairngorms National Park. The location of the Estate in such an area of environmental significance, as well as the high levels of public usage, means that the role is often employed in practical ways to manage the potential conflicts between these interests.

Camera Obscura and World of Illusions are currently recruiting full/part-time Guides to start in September. The job of a Guide at Camera Obscura is an interesting and varied one. You will be working in the exhibition spaces to ensure our visitors are getting the most out of their visit.

In addition to selling tickets to the public at reception, you will be required to promote the attraction to passers-by in the street. You will need a sound knowledge of the local area to answer queries from visitors.

Job Summary
This will be a pivotal role within the Estates Dept. to work with others in the estates and IT team to modernise existing estates information management and reporting systems and develop and implement new processes, methodologies and software systems to streamline working practices in the tracking and monitoring of all estates activities (eg planned maintenance, response maintenance and asset information).
The post holder will report to the Head of Estates and Facilities Management and will work closely with other members of the Dept. and key stakeholders to streamline and rationalise Estates processes and information and data management, with the aim of improving standards of service and performance management and reporting. The role will also co-ordinate and oversee critical admin activities including task allocation, work activities tracking and performance management, contract and project administration and information management/record keeping.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to support marketing activity. You will have the marketing knowledge and skills to administer, co-ordinate and prepare content for a range of digital channels.

Based at our HQ at Falkirk Stadium, you will work closely with staff in all functional areas of the Trust to help achieve the mission of the Trust which is to enrich people’s lives in the Falkirk area. Joining us, you will co-ordinate material across all culture, heritage, tourism, recreation, sport and library services.

You will have in-depth knowledge of contributing to web based material in a relevant business environment with experience in using Google analytics and paid social media and PPC advertising. You will have copywriting skills and well developed and comprehensive IT skills. You will be a good communicator, able to network effectively and be able to interpret and assess a wide range of information. A degree in Marketing or a similar discipline is desirable.
